House Sitter in Baltimore, Maryland

Located in Fells Point. Available to take care of your sweet pets. Cats and small to medium dogs. Prefer to stay in the Fells Point, Upper Fells Point area as I am familiar with walking in those areas. I am visiting my daughter in Baltimore, rather long term, but am limited in the neighborhoods of Baltimore that I am familiar with. I practice very clean habits and will take care of your pets and your property with care. I am a life long pet owner of both dogs and cats. They were members of our family and all lived to be quite senior. My precious Oreo crossed over the rainbow Aug 30, 2016, after 12 years of constant companionship. Not only am I new to the Baltimore area but I am also new to the idea of taking care of and being responsible for another's pet. For that reason, I am currently only interested in short time commitments, meaning up to a few days, until I get my feet wet so to speak. I retired from government work in 1996. The last position I held was that of Supervisory Management Analyst in a missile defense agency at Redstone Arsenal in Alabama.. After retirement, the next 16 years was spent supplementing the care of my grand daughter, during which time I was a substitute teacher and participant in her many extracurricular activities. I am reasonably fit for my age of 79 years and enjoy regular walks around the neighborhood, usually within a mile range. Steps are not a problem to handle. The many years I have had pets has given me a clear insight that these services for pet care in the home are very needed. Pets are so much happier in their own habitat. I would sometimes forego trips that I could not take Oreo with me, rather than put him in the kennel. He traveled with me until the last couple of years, mostly by car, but also in a carryon carrier by plane when he was very young. The last couple of years of his life, I mostly stayed put and avoided travel altogether. As a pet owner (and lover) I know all too well the peace of mind a pet owner needs to bring themselves to leave them in someone else's care. One or two easy to manage pets will be my benchmark, so if it seems we meet each other's needs, we might be able to make it an adventure.
