Hi there! My name is Ashley. I'm an experienced home-sharer, a dependable worker, and a world traveler. A Californian by blood, I left my hometown of Los Angeles in 2011 to attend Franklin University Switzerland. For four years, I studied south of the Alps, in a small Italian-speaking city called Lugano. I picked up the language quickly, so I was able to find work as an English tutor in private homes. From 2011 to 2015, I taught English as a foreign language to children and professionals in over ten families. My lessons varied from conversational practice to custom-made grammar instruction, but my approach remained constant -- always treat the customer with 10 times more respect then you'd think necessary. Why? Because work in people's homes can be a blessing at best, but at worst, tremendously awkward. The responsibility for a positive relationship between client and contractor falls on the guest. I learned that when I lived in an Italian family's home in 2013, and again the summer of 2014 when I was invited on vacation with one of the families I worked for in Lugano.
