House Sitter in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

I am a long-term resident of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, an American citizen born in the UK. My previous employment as a yacht captain has involved the responsibility of looking after, maintaining, managing and sailing boats from Europe to the USA and elsewhere. After retiring from the active yachting trade I became the editor of a respected yachting magazine and continued to write articles for a number of other periodicals afterward. I do not own a home but I lived and sailed my own boat around the Caribbean for a few years. I know what maintenance means and though not an expert in house repair I can deal with basic problems that don't require the help of, say, a professional plumber. I have been at my present rental house for several years and now find the expense burdensome, hence this appeal for a house sitting job.
