“Writing, again?!? Awww, do I have to?” I was often greeted with groans such as these when I had tutored middle and high school students in the past. I remember feeling that way myself not too long ago, during my own years of school. However, it was the writing process that taught me how to break down my subject matter into manageable pieces, and then reorganize and tackle them one by one. It was through writing that I learned how to manage details, while keeping in mind how they fit into larger contexts. Over the years, I have learned to apply the same techniques to every task presented to me. I am organized, methodical, and thorough. And I am competent in finding ways to make adjustments in what I do to fit each new situation. I am currently looking for a position that would supplement my income while I compose some long-term writing projects of my own. I feel that I can be an asset to you in the Housesitter position that you offer. I am a college graduate possessing a bachelor’s degree in English, with a writing emphasis, from Loyola Marymount University. A love of communicating with others, and the desire share what I’d learned, had led me to pursue a credential in teaching. However, after only a short while in the classroom, I’d found that the profession didn’t suit me, for it is essentially through reading and writing that I communicate best. As a college student, I had thoroughly acquainted myself with different methods of research, and through my experiences in my current job position, with how to reach people of different cultural backgrounds through my writing. I am competent in all of the programs in the Microsoft Office suite - MS Word in particular. I enjoy job positions involving a variety of different tasks, and feel especially at ease communicating through the written word. I will work hard to earn your confidence and fulfill your needs.
