I have always been intrigued with traveling the world. As a young child, I would spin the globe that was larger than I was and put my finger down where I wanted to travel to. I became fascinated with the world and other cultures. I had to wait many years to leave my own continent of North America. My first experience in another country was Haiti. I fell in love with this country from the get go. I spent two weeks living in a mud hut in the desert surrounded by the most beautiful people I had ever met. I ended up spending three years as a missionary in Haiti in my early 20’s with these same beautiful people! One day in my mid 20s, I met someone who has the same and actually more quest and fascination with people and cultures than I do... Sheila Steplar! We have traveled throughout Europe, Africa, Asia and extensively in the North America. Our adventures gave us an appreciation of the diverseness, the vastness, and the amazing beauty of nature and the people around the world. Now we want to travel the world; embrace cultures; extend love and kindness to the people, animals and communities where we will be living. Both Sheila and I have been mommies to a beautiful dog, Sweetie and cat, Kitty, who won both our hearts. Because of Sweetie, I became a dog lover and because of Kitty, Sheila became a cat lover. Kitty and Sweetie stole our hearts and showed us how to expand our love of all animals. It seems no matter where we travel a local pet will come and fill that space in our hearts that only an animal can fill. We owned The Derby Village Inn, a bed-and-breakfast in Vermont. We know how to care for a home and we know how to care for animals. We will take beautiful care of your home and your children (Dogs, cats and farm animals) so you can have your own worldly adventure away from home but knowing your home and animals are lovingly cared for.
