House Sitter in Block Island, Rhode Island

I am a retired fire fighter and my wife is retired from restaurant management and event planning. We have four adult children who all live in Rhode Island. We have been sailing our boat to the Caribean for the last three winters but have always thought it would be nice to spend a winter on Block Island. Now that hurricane Irma has badly damaged our favorite anchorages in the Vigin Islands and St Martin, the timing is right for a BI winter! We have stayed overnights on BI several times in January and February and cherished the serenity and solitude of the island during the winter months. I am retired (Batalion Chief)after 28 years as a professional fire fighter and I am handy with a hammer, paint brush, and a wrench - although not all at the same time. Tammy has spent over 20 years in restaurant management and is a bit of a neat freak when it comes to keeping things clean and orderly. We love animals but don't have any of our own at present. We would be willing to take on some small painting or renovation projects in your home - we like to be busy some times!
