House Sitter in Burlington, Vermont

About this sitter I am a 66 year old retired CPA/Financial Analyst. My wife of 45 years is also a CPA. I grew up on a farm in Iowa. Early in my career I owned and operated a 640 acre crop and livestock farm in Texas, so I am experienced caring for growing things, including gardens, livestock and pets. My wife is allergic to cats, so if she comes with me, cats in the house would not be ok. However, she loves most other pets and gets along with outdoor cats just fine. Why they want to house sit We love to travel. and often stay a week or 2 in a community like the locals do, get to know an area well and do our touring at a leisurely pace. I enjoy learning and practicing new languages. I can speak some Spanish and Portuguese, and am working on German, French, Italian, Greek (very difficult) and Chinese. Their experience We have not yet house-sat for Mind My House, but have spent several weeks staying in peoples' homes through VRBO or Air BNB and always take care of them as if they were our own. We have very good ratings. What can they bring to the assignment As a homeowner with a 2 acre homestead, I am used to taking care of a large property. I am a good gardener and do-it-yourselfer. I enjoy pets, and have lived much of my life in the country as well as town. I have owned and maintained our own swimming pool for nearly 20 years, so I can care for yours as well. Our adult son lives with us, so we have a built in house sitter for our own home and have a lot of freedom to travel at short notice. I can usually provide my own car if needed. Your home and pets will receive the best possible care and attention from me. I will be playful, careful, and gentle with your pets. I am diplomatic and kind to your countrymen and neighbors. I enjoy meeting new people, and visiting new places. I am a good communicator who tries to avoid assumptions and misunderstandings. I clean up after myself.
