House Sitter in Brevard, North Carolina

Looking for position in Mexico, Central, or South America. We just completed work as caretakers at a guesthouse (www.....com) in Brevard, North Carolina, USA and are looking for a new caretaking / house sitting position. In addition to caretaking this most recent property, we created their website, and opened the guesthouse and helped build their business from the ground up . Our responsibilities included guest relations such as handling reservations, check-in/check-out, answering inquires, giving guests suggestions on where to eat, see live music, go mountain hiking/biking, etc. We also cleaned the rooms & 6,000 sq. foot guest house, prepared financial reports for the owner, shopped for supplies, maintained the man website & AirBnb sites, and everything else associated with keeping the guesthouse running and our guests happy. In the eighteen months or so prior to taking on the position at the Brevard House in November of 2014, we were house sitters for about four months in Barra de Potosi, Guerrero, Mexico and three months on Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico. While in Barra, the home & grounds we took care of was for sale and we interacted with the real estate company to prepare for showings and to answer any basic questions about the home that prospective buyers might have. While in Isla Mujeres, we took care of the house, 3 wonderful dogs and one very funny cat (who ruled the roost!). Between those jobs, we spent several months in Peru, traveling by bus around the country and taking intensive Spanish classes. We also drove to Barra de Potosi from the US (four days, 1,500 miles in Mexico) which really helped us gain a comfort level with Mexico and the need to depend on our Spanish language skills. The same during our time riding the buses of Peru. In addition to the caretaking/house sitting experiences mentioned above, we have substituted numerous times, for extended periods, for the regular caretakers at Lonesome Cove Resort on San Juan Island, Washington (www.....com). At Lonesome Cove we managed their five cabins, boathouse apartment, and garage apartment including overseeing cleaning staff, working the garden, checking guests in/out, taking reservations, handling inquiries, maintaining the property, minor mechanic maintenance, etc. While at Lonesome cove, we also took care of the regular caretakers' dog. Also on San Juan Island, we house and pet sat for a couple with a dog and cat multiple times.
