Putri has worked as a Student Assistant under my supervision at our university research library since June 2016, and she has managed to quickly develop the skills necessary to tackle a wide variety of tasks and to provide assistance to patrons. Besides fulfilling day to day library operational work such as managing the circulation desk, stacks, and making sure all library equipment and spaces are in working order, Putri took great initiative to work several weekday shifts at our library in addition to volunteering for shifts at other branch libraries and for special projects involving gathering statistics. Since we are a staff of two, we rely greatly on our students to work unsupervised for Sunday shifts and frequently throughout the week when either staff member has commitments outside of the library, and within a very short time, Putri was able to demonstrate the aptitude and self-sufficiency required to staff the branch for Sunday shifts independently as well as weekday closing shifts and midday breaks. In addition, Putri has terrific customer service skills. She is willing to walk patrons through various library policies and expresses an eagerness to assist each patron regarding a variety of questions and concerns. Putri is an excellent employee, and I am honored to endorse her for this position.
