I am good with children and do well with most people of any age. I have experience caring for elderly and physically challenged individuals. I am IHSS certified. I have reliable and safe transportation - Acura vehicle (full insurance and keep everything current). I am an excellent driver with more than 1 million miles of roads driven on every surface and in every weather condition imaginable, including white-out blizzards and Sierra summits with multiple feet of snow, black ice and other conditions most drivers would never consider. I do NOT panic (so far never) in emergencies or other high stress situations. I'm great with animals, and have a strong connection with even "problem" animals. I have always been more comfortable with animals than people, for as long as I can remember. I have been rescuing animals since I was in kindergarten and nursing the wild ones back so that they could be released into the wild again. I have had dogs my whole life. I raised guinea pigs as a teenager, had some really cool fresh water aquariums on and off over the years, and I have lived with cats many years, but have none at present. I can fix and maintain pretty much anything in and around a property, from autos to electrical to carpentry to computers ( my profession for more than 45 years is in the computer industry, both hardware and software). I am not a Felix Unger (obsessive clean type), but always keep wherever I am in the same or better condition than how I found it. I have always been great with plants, and had over 200 indoor houseplants at one of my past houses, which I cared for completely myself. I currently have a small vegetable garden producing a variety of organic food. I am in great shape and am capable of serious physical labor when required (helping individuals with self-movement issues, or other situations that demand strength, endurance and agility). I am well educated in organic and natural diets and extend my interests to health and healing by attempting to avoid most western medical "treatments", particularly prescription , etc. I have extensive knowledge of natural and plant based "remedies" and supplements, drawing from more than 50 years of interest in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine), Ayurvedic, Homeopathic, Naturopathic, Holistic, Chiropractic, and other treatment philosophies. I am very adept at working with Western Medical Doctors and dealing with HMOs and other medical insurance. I'm a decent cook, and extend my knowledge and views of diet and health to animals in my care also. Naturally I do my best to maintain whatever diet and care your animals are used to (as directed by you). I am capable of dealing with special needs people and animals, and providing basic healthcare (meds / shots, etc.) if required. IF you need me to stay overnight, I do require reasonably high speed internet access. TV is optional. I am fairly easy to work with, and am as reliable and trustworthy as can be found. Naturally I can provide many references for most every skill I have described, and need you may have! Most everything is negotiable, so can usually accommodate your every need!
