House Sitter in Halifax, Nova Scotia

Hello, I'm looking for a house and hopefully some pets to look after while you are away, off travelling, or perhaps at a winter destination. I'm available beginning of Feb to end of March. I'm early 60's, very fit, capable & able and recently retired from my own business in food marketing. My kids have moved to Halifax and I'd like an opportunity to be close, but not too close(!) for a couple of months. The kids are professionals and live in the Hydrostone area. Your home (and pets) will be my focus, and this gives me an opportunity to see my family on a regular basis, but not under their feet (or they under mine!). I'm an honest to goodness homebody, happy to look after cleaning, plants, snow, pets, mail etc. Would love to share, if we connect, photos of my own home, which will clearly give you an honest and real sense of what a home means to me and how I keep it. My home is a beautiful, 4 bdrm 1910 heritage in mid town Calgary AB. which I've owned for 27yrs. I come with real experience with what it means to look after a home and pets. (handling emergencies, how to shut off water, read an electrical panel, being mindful of utilities and safety). Having been mom to many lovely 4 legged family members over my life, cats, dogs, fish, turtles, etc. Love to walk, and love the company of a waggy tail! (Fun Fact: my university degree A..... (Guelph) was in "home ecomonics!" - really, that's what it was known as in the 80's!) Housesitting is the ideal way to spend a couple of months in a city, explore and see family. I am happily single, my children and growing family are my love and focus, and truly hope a housesitting opportunity will allow me to enjoy see my family, get to know Halifax and have a space to be mom, without intruding on their space.
