I would be delighted to care for your pets and look after your home. I've been fortunate to have house and pet sat for many friends and neighbors over the years. I say fortunate because I truly feel it is a high compliment. Yes, I am doing them a favor but it shows how trustworthy and responsible they find me. Similarly, I've hired house and pet sitters myself and I know how nerve wracking it can be trying to find someone competent. For me, knowing my pets are being cared for in the comfort of their home instead of boarded at the vets office always makes the effort worthwhile. I truly love animals like you wouldn't believe. I've always been an animal person. I grew up with dogs, cats, birds, hamsters and fish. We always had a full house. Pets are part of the family. No doubt about it. I've had dogs and cats myself ever since. I pet sat bunnies once before. I've had pet mice. I've rescued many turtles from the road (snappers, painted turtles, all kinds) and have rehabbed a few back to health before releasing them. In short, I'm comfortable around most animals. The only thing I know I couldn't do is feed a live mouse to a snake. I know it's natural for them, but after having pet mice, I simply can't bring myself to it. I quickly become friends with most dogs and cats I look after. I'm flexible and open to discussing your needs and promise to take good care of your home and furry friends while you are away. I'm currently a homeowner and also own a rental property. After watching too many rehab shows on HGTV, I thought, "I can do that! It looks so easy!". So like a fool I went out and bought a huge house to rehab. I successfully got the job done and now my house is beautiful but oh my gosh! was it a lot of work. They don't show all the things that can go wrong on the TV shows. I learned that the hard way! In short, all the lessons I learned can now benefit you. I know how to care for a home and what to do when things go wrong (which hopefully never happens, but that is why you have a house sitter to provide you with peace-of-mind so you can focus on your vacation and know if any problems arise they will be handled competently). It goes without saying I will respect your property and privacy. Your pets and your home will be treated with genuine care. While housesitting I enjoy keeping homeowners updated on the happiness of their pets and care of their home. That is, if they wish. I started working as a clerk at a law firm at age 15. Went to college for business, pre-law then law school. I've enjoyed my career as an attorney. Now it's time to see what else life has to offer. I'm out of the rat race and taking time to decompress before I figure out what's next. I've always wanted to write and housesitting provides me with a quiet get-away to do just that.
