House Sitter in Auburn, Massachusetts

Mature, professional, and quiet House Guardian, Pet Snuggler and Adventurer .....with lots of flexibility especially Aug/Sept 2018. I’m searching for a few awesome house/pet sitting jobs that need an awesome sitter! ***See below section on advanced capabilities regarding pet care esp ^^DIABETES^^ (insulin) or those that require IV fluids. Very respectful of personal privacy while caring for your home. I love a solid list of ‘do’s and dont’s’ and can change a lightbulb or a fuse without panicking. :) Why do I do this? Ive been wondering myself! Mid-life crisis? Desire to experience new areas or towns? Wanderlust? Because I can? A blend of all of these things, hence my penchant for stays in interesting, desirable, or coastal areas. Your home / pets are my priority, followed by the thrill I get discovering a new town. Interesting to me could be a rural, old farmhouse or the town over from my home in a mid-century modern urban home. Interesting to me varies! So, please reach out if I seem to fit your needs, regardless of your locale. Except tents. I love the outdoors but draw the limit at tent-sitting. Yurts are negotiable. ;) Lots of availability August and September 2018. New England area or potentially beyond. Have a reliable vehicle and many references. Currently available with short notice especially if within an hour or two of Central Mass. Both weekdays and weekends equally available. All normal house & pet sitting duties can be done. Mail, trash, maintaining interior, and being on top of things such as scheduled services or a couple errands you may need done while away. Greater than average knowledge of plants and gardens. Less than average knowledge of lawn mowing. :) Happy to send daily updates to ensure you feel all is well with your home and/or pets. Love sending pics or videos of your pet, if wanted! I know how hard it is to leave them, even for a short time, for some folks - myself included. PET INFO / ADVANCED MED NEEDS: Niche speciality is petsitting, especially diabetic pets. Very knowledgeable in administering meds including IV fluids, insulin injections and glucose monitoring - if you don’t glucose monitor a diabetic pet, and want to know why you might want to and how - email me - I’m happy to share that info regardless of whether I housesit for you or not! I’m great with animals - especially cats and dogs - and fine with the shy, reluctant furbabies as well as the outgoing sort. My limit is very aggressive pets or those that go beyond a warning or scratch - I like all my limbs to stay attached. STRANGER DANGER: I like to meet in-person before accepting a role especially if petsitting, but if that’s not an option for you, a video chat is often suitable depending on the pet situation. I won’t accept a job without one or the other, ie. If we can’t chat face to face in some way prior to you leaving, it won’t work on my end. HOW TO INVESTIGATE ME: I’m happy to give you full access to my social media, reference list, and the info needed to run a background check, or I can run a Massachusetts CORI check for you for a small fee. I have no criminal record of any sort and have a solid, mid/upper level professional background in higher education and Human Resources. FEES: My charges are dependent on your needs. Great locations, architecture, interior design, and pretty coastal areas get discounts ... ha! I am flexible and considerate regarding my rates and base them mostly on your list of requirements. I do this more out of interest than need, and open to some bartering, especially if you are an artist or “maker” of something.
