Overview: I'm interviewing for a house sitter/minder placement in Clearwater, Florida. I am committed to being a sitter with whom you feel that your trust is well placed and you will come back to whenever you need a house sitter. Giving a house the feeling of being inhabited to avert possible robberies. Your information is confidential, I am reliable and able to follow instructions, while managing the time needed to do the job. I will work part or full-time as required and I have personal transportation available. Description of Skills: • Responsible, reliable, self starter • Take and record instructions from homeowners regarding overseeing their homes • Ask questions to determine if homeowners would like any special way for their homes to be treated • Occupy houses while owners are away and handle the general maintenance and upkeep of the interior and exterior • Perform light housekeeping duties keeping in mind specific instructions from the owners • Pay utility bills and oversee any maintenance or repair work being done on the property • Answer telephones and doorbells and provide information asked for, keeping in mind the confidentiality agreement with owners • File incoming mail and packages and ensure that any instructions for mail forwarding is followed • Feed/water/walk/bathe/medicate house pets and take them to the vet as needed. I grew up with birds (canaries, parakeets, parrot, cockatiels), cats, dogs, fish and reptiles (turtles, lizards, snakes and a tarantula). I am comfortable around most animals. • Inspect the house several times to ensure that no intrusion is possible or evident • Ascertain that the house is properly locked down at the end of the day • Set up and monitor security systems and alarms and inform authorities at any sign of intrusion • Experience with pool maintenance (diatomaceous earth system), lawn maintenance (lawn tractor) and garden upkeep in an organic garden watering indoor plants upon instructions provided Professional Experience: With respect to prior professional experience, I have extensive experience being a caregiver to my mother who is now deceased. I took care of her household, birds, cats, fish, gave her medication (including injections), cooked healthy meals, did the laundry, bathed her, paid her bills, provided transportation to medical appointments, provided snow removal in winter. While I am not looking for a caregiver position, the experience of taking care of someone for 5 years is easily applicable to a house sitting position. Key Achievements: • Handled full time home upkeep on nearly an acre of land for 5 years while providing 24/7 support to a patient with senile dementia. • Provided pet care, including veterinary visits for 3 cats, a Maltese 14 cockatiels, 2 parakeets and a 40 gallon aquarium of fresh water fish. I am open to adjusting duties, but will require it to be confirmed via email at the very least so that all parties are happy with the outcome.
