My wife and I are 2 years from retirement and are considering the SouthWest for her health issues. Before we sell/buy- we'd like to experience the worst of the summers, to make sure of our decision. We are a young - 56 - active, and capable. We have 30 years experience with home ownership in Virginia. We currently have a cat and our son visits often with his (active) dog. We love pets, and they are no issues with us. We have kept indoor plants alive for more than 20 yrs - I am dead serious. Currently my wife is retired, so she has few time restrictions. A 30 day trial during June-Sept would be best, but we would consider shorter or longer terms. Oh! We have a son (and other family) in Phoenix - so we have a base of knowledge and support... we arent going into this blind of your AZ environment / ways.
