House Sitter in Oak Grove, Oregon

My husband and I are transitioning to live in the Portland/Vancouver area sometime in the next few years to be closer to family. In the meantime I have some work that is taking me there for different periods of time. We are looking for housesitting opportunities to both help us get to know the area and to have a place to stay while we are in town working. We are used to both rural and urban living and use currently use wood heat, so if your home has a wood stove or fireplace, we know how to use one and keep it clean. We are long time homeowners, have been landlords, and we understand how to take care of a house and yard. We can care for dogs (I love dogs) and other animals, but am allergic to cats. While we have not been housesitters before, we have hired housesitters and we have personal references that can vouch for our integrity. We currently live in the magical southwest Colorado area, outside of the small town of Mancos, whose motto is "Where the west still lives". Originally we are from Arcata, CA, in Humboldt County, so we know and love the Pacific Northwest. We are looking for a place or places from mid-February-mid-May 2017.
