I have had the pleasure of knowing Derek Burns for over twenty years. As a grade school student, Derek attended a summer camp program I administrate. As he moved on through middle school, Derek was a regular visitor to our playground and we talked frequently. I hired Derek when he was in high school to work as a classroom assistant in our elementary school based after-school program. During his college years Derek returned to work for us as a Group Leader in the after-school program.
Derek always demonstrated excellent work habits and was a loyal, trustworthy and responsible member of our staff. He made a great team player and left a lasting impression on a number of the students he worked with.
