House Sitter in Delta, British Columbia

Summary: I'm interviewing for a house sitting provider job opportunity in Delta, British Columbia. My goal is to contribute my abilities as a House Sitting Provider who is also somewhat of a handyman to boot. If some domestic emergency came up, I would not be helpless to act on it. (specifically: severe weather causing leaks or damage, such as the windstorm we had in Ladner last year that caused power outages and voltage surges.) On the power outage topic: I can quickly determine if there is a problem with the electrical power and take steps to protect any electronics you may have, including finding any circuits that may be voltage-compromised and ensuring your deep freeze or fridge continue functioning. For the most part, just unplugging your electronics prior to holiday/trip is the most effective method, but is not always desirable so your device does not lose its settings and forget you. Description of Skills: I will take care of plant watering, pet and animal care, including petting, cats really like me, and I have no allergies, Also, however unlikely this year, I can easily perform litigation-preventing snow clearing. I have previous experience but it is fairly limited. I merely prefer not to pay rent, because I am just launching a fledgling business venture or two, and since I can be trusted around any amount of that which belongs to others without it being some kind of temptation or distraction, I thought housesitting would be a good fit for me. I am just not a covetous person. No gf/SO, no kids, not really any kind of social network but a few friends here and around the globe. The businesses I am starting and incubating need some startup capital to go further, and rent is not just an expense in this case, but somewhat of an obstacle, as some of it requires actionable capital more immediately up front, and I merely need a place to have internet access. I'm employed full time but do not see that as having the future I prefer, so to expedite the process of moving forward, I have already started one business and am looking at re-starting another I was in before. I have just never subscribed to home ownership, and have been around the world 2.5 times thus far in my life. After this latest project, I may be able to be home for the most part day and night. I have my own transportation, an SUV and, well, a very nice car. I can leave one there and drive the other to give the appearance of fairly steady presence to deter any adventurism on the part of potential burglars. if you have home automation, you can show me how to maximize the appearance of occupancy 24/7. Presently at same landlord for about five years, but I would prefer to make the switch to housesitting, and it would be nice to park my nice car off the street, if possible.
