Richard N. Armstrong was born in Indianapolis, Ind.,and graduated from Louisville Male High School, and University of Louisville (Kentucky). Richard served two years in active Naval Reserves, and four years in the United States Navy, graduating from the Naval Conservatory of Music, and serving in Naval Bands in the United States Sixth Fleet of Operations in the Mediterranean, and U.S.Naval Facility, Philadelphia, PA.
