House Sitter in New York, New York

Hello there, I am currently a student again, finishing my second bachelor degree in cooperation with an IT Company in Munich, Germany. I am taking this semester off to help out my mum, because my dad was struggling with chemotherapy. Now that he is getting a little better, I want to use the rest of the time to travel, recharge and visit my girlfriend Lili who is a junior at Pace University in downtown New York. I will be in New York from beginning of October until the end of the year and am happy to take any assignment. Born and raised in the warm southwest of Germany, with its many vineyards and the Black Forrest at your doorstep, I have worked and studied in multiple cities in multiple countries. I am a very open-minded, honest and respectful person and care very much for the people around me, who can always rely on me. I’m responsible, self-sufficient, also very organized and clean. You can be sure your home will be spotless on your return. I love to cook and prefer a book and a good wine to going out and party. I grew up with animals and respect for them. We always had pets around in my childhood home, from goldfish to hamster and rabbits to cat and dog. Now I have a dog of my own for 6 years now and know how difficult but important the search for a sitter is because you have to trust them with your home and the well-being of your pet. I love traveling, experiencing different countries, cultures, meeting people and listening to their stories and views, and making fury friends on the way. I think house or pet sitting is a great way to travel the world while helping out others which both enjoy very much. It gives the chance to immerse into the local community and get a better perspective opposed to traveling like a tourist. Nevertheless, it is also an opportunity to give back to the people who are in need of a sitter and who put their trust in me. I have no "official" house sitting or pet sitting experience yet but everyone needs to start somewhere. Since I moved out when I was 21 I’m well-adjusted to living by myself and taking care of my own place which l always keep clean and neat. I always looked after my parents and aunts houses and took care of the gardens whenever they were on vacation. As you can see in my pictures, I also own a dog of my own for 6 years now, who I love and care for very much. I also volunteer in local animal shelters wherever I am and worked at an elephant rescue center in Thailand. Therefore, I definitely know what being responsible for and taking care of a house or a living being means. I have been also couch surfing while traveling for extended periods of time throughout Asia and Europe and one of the most important things to me is to be respectful of the home I am welcomed in and the people I meet. I will keep you updated on your pets’ well-being through emails, texts or photos as often as you’d like. Otherwise, I am self-sufficient and I will make sure your time away from your home/pet is as stress free as possible and that you’ll always know it is in safe hands. I am happy to phone, FaceTime or skype prior to the assignment.
