About Me: Hello my name is Sue. I'm a mature (57yo), friendly, financially independent housesitter (incl pet & garden care). I'm a former Glebe homeowner. I managed a full house with pets, kids and a garden. (I lived at 21 Oakland Ave if you want to Street-view it). I'm separated since then, and my kids are grown. I now spend part of the year in California and part of the year in Ottawa (visiting family and friends). For me, house sitting isn't about money as I'm financially self sufficient, but rater it's about mutual benefits. Personally, I prefer to stay in a "home" rather than a hotel while I'm in Ottawa which is why house-sitting appeals to me. Meanwhile, by choosing me as your housesitter, you get peace of mind having an experienced, responsible former homeowner minding your home (pets & garden included). SERVICES & EXPERIENCE Having been a homeowner myself for over two decades, I know how important your home and pets are. Having cared for a home with pets, kids and garden for over two decades, I understand the challenges and I'm well prepared to handle anything. Moreover, I'm fastidiously clean and will leave your home as clean (if not cleaner) than you left it! For starters, I'm particularly proud of my excellent gardening skills. (I'll gladly share photos of my last garden if you ask lol). My gardens, which I designed and developed, were always a favorite with passers by. I'm familiar with irrigation systems, fertilizers, mulching, weeding, the care of a large variety of perennials and annuals, as well as lawn care. I'm handy with all types of garden tools, including power trimmers, lawn mowers, etc. Additionally, I've had cats, and dogs my entire life. Likewise when my kids were young they also had gerbils and fish (which of course i inevitably cared for too lol). Furthermore, having done extensive renovations over the years, I'm prepared should (heaven forbid) anything happen. For example, I'm handy with tools (power and otherwise) and have advanced skills in electricity and plumbing jobs (big and small). I doubt these will ever be needed, but knowing I can handle it is an added bonus for peace of mind. I'm also very technically savvy. My former career was in technology so I know my way around troubleshooting issues with alarms, Internet, and appliances etc. Bottom line,. I offer the most experienced level of care available for home, garden & lawn maintenance, and I offer snow clearing when necessary.
