House Sitter in Calabasas, California

I am a retired CEO & returned Peace Corps Volunteer who is looking for a new place to call home. I've leased my home in California and have been visiting friends in Rwanda, Kenya, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, & Mexico, and I'm now ready to expand my horizon. I have spent a month on a cargo ship to China, spent a month in Italy, taken the train from Venice to Munich to visit my calabash son in Immenstadt, Germany, chased ancestors in Salt Lake City, Utah, Cornwall, England and Tombstone, Arizona, explored the Yucatan and studied Spanish in Merida, Mexico. I sold real estate in Hawaii for 25 years, owned my own brokerage, and am very familiar with management challenges involved in real estate. I've redeveloped houses on the side most of my life; so I'm familiar with contractors, maintenance folks, etc. I was a pet owner (Miniature Schnauzer) while I lived in California before 1973 and again as a tenant in Hawaii in 1973 (giant schnauzer who needed a heart worm pill daily!). I've owned property on the Big Island and Oahu from 1978-201..., and I currently own property in California that I've leased out indefinitely while I travel. I find the traffic in the Los Angeles area too much to bear, and I'm almost ready to sell the car (again) and spend more time abroad. I had a horse for several years while I was in high school (1950's) so I'm familiar with large animals, but it's been a while. I'm not much of a gardener, but I can follow directions. I've traveled solo for many years, and I'm comfortable with the challenges involved in new locations ... I love new places and new people. My current "permanent" address is my brother's in Calabasas, California.
