House Sitter in Sedona, Arizona

I am an active, thoughtful animal and plant lover with a curiousity for travel and the outdoors. Professionally, I have worked in customer service, hospitality, supportive home care, and in the greenhouse and landscaping industry. I do not currently have a pet of my own but I grew up with a Samoyed and Pomeranian, and have worked with shelters to foster many different animals throughout my life. I have cared for the fur-babies of friends and family many times (working with labs, german wirehairs, argentinian mastiffs, muts) and just finished up an 8 month house/pet sit in Flagstaff, AZ. I am well-versed in animals of all kinds, sizes, and personalities! Although young, I consider myself an old soul. I enjoy caring for other beings and I appreciate the small, simplicities in life. I enjoy cooking and cleaning -- and take pride in both. I am fit and live a healthy lifestyle and have been vegetarian for about two years. I believe what you put into your body is essential to overall health and wellness -- in mind, body, and spirit -- and will extend this idea towards the care of your sweet pets. I am motivated, friendly, and independent. I very much value cleanliness and hard work, and have learned small trade and 'fix-it' tasks while traveling and living on my own. I attended St. Olaf College (um ya ya), enjoy many creative mediums from music and books to painting and designing, and have a deep appreciation and understanding of the plant world and our Mother Earth. I am most comfortable with dogs, cats, chickens, birds, fish and lizards -- not so much so with horses but willing to learn. I am very experienced in plant care, and having a garden would be a plus in my book :) I recently finished up house/pet sitting in Flagstaff, AZ for a wonderful family with 4 dogs and 2 cats. I spent February-October of 2017 caring for 2 goofy kitties, a sweet grandpa chocolate lab, 2 rambunctious little cattle dogs, and a shy rottweiler-mix puppy, where I had to cook special diets for the pups daily, and take them to the vet for check-ups and vaccinations (as well as the fun stuff like going out to play and snuggling!). It was a handful at times, but staying organized kept a happy, manageable home for all of us! I am happy to share any personal and professional references, as well as a clean background check.
