I've been a housesitter for several years, from Joshua Tree, CA to Holiday, FL to Transylvania, Romania. I've also been an aquarium keeper since age six. I am the only one who will understand your nitrate/nitrate cycle so those gorgeous fish of yours stay ALIVE! As for furry friends, you can look forward to lots of walks, hugs, and exploring. Steph house-sat for me for six months while I was overseas with an estate issue. I a bunch of plants and a 55-gallon tropical tank that needed cars. I ended up with more fish and plants than I left her with! She knew how to get the zebra danios to breed by using marbles and rocks? Also, she replanted the spider plant babies I've been meaning too but have been too lazy. It was a lovely surprise! She was only engaged at the time but her now husband, Matt, was very nice as well. He is a real shy, quiet guy and she is very bubbly but their presence kept people away (we had some problems with vacation home robbers back in 2005.) They were really able to keep an eye on things because they work remotely as media artists. If I end up leaving the country again, I will be calling them first.
