House Sitter in Austin, Texas

Two professionals, world travelers making a life change and taking a sabbatical. I am a veterinarian so I'm handy with animals of all kinds. Since we don't have pets of our own anymore, I am overjoyed to get some love from all kinds of finned, furred and feathered family members. My spouse is an international attorney who is very handy but looking forward to having some time to write and decompress after several decades working abroad, so I'd like to keep the "handyman" role light for the moment. However, we are always willing to discuss it if the right opportunity comes along. Visiting family in Austin for month of May and looking for place within walking distance to downtown Austin (unless car is available for our use, though we are flexible). Very responsible, quiet, clean, tidy and considerate. Love good food, music, nature and culture of all kinds (history, museums, etc). Have lived on sailboats and remote off grid locations so understand special needs of limited resource management and self reliance. Also have managed staff in multiple cultures/languages. Open to travel anywhere abroad for longer term (minimum 3 months unless travel expenses paid) after Jun 1. Do enjoy a glass or wine or scotch from time to time. Also, my spouse does smoke but will be happy to do only outdoors in respect to you and your home.
