House Sitter in Kelowna, British Columbia

We are a married couple, in year of sabbatical and career transition. Bruno is currently a student online at UBC and will be placed in an internship (somewhere around BC!) this Autumn from September to early November. We are flexible somewhat with our timing in that we can extend a housesitting agreement if the hosts need us longer than the UBC internship placement. Our top choices for the internship placement are the Okanagan Valley, North Vancouver, and Vancouver Island. We are looking forward to this opportunity to explore BC. We have a car and will likely explore the surrounding area during weekends. We are a self-stuffiest unit as a couple and happy to spend our free time together and cooking for ourselves. We are also open to sharing meals and offering our favourite dishes with our host family and sharing quality time together. We have lived together in Canada for three years in Montreal and North Vancouver. We were teachers at Steiner schools and householders in a therapeutic community for adults with special needs. Vanessa has a background in early childhood education, special needs, and physical education. Originally, Bruno is from Brazil and Vanessa is from California. Between us we speak three languages and can offer a language exchange if you wish. We can take excellent care of your home, children, garden, pets, organization projects, food preservation, vineyard, etc. Vanessa grew up in the countryside, milking goats, and working on vineyards, preserving the harvest and vending at the farmers market for an organic farm. Bruno loves baking homemade bread and sharing Brazilian BBQ. We are adaptable, diligent, and open-minded. Values that are important to us: healthy living, spirituality, and care and respect for family, community, environment. We hope to offer you our help for your home projects and provide good company in respectful community. We are interested in learning new skills such as basic green building, outdoor kitchen construction, composting toilets, and permaculture skills so we can one day have our own dream green home.
