House Sitter in Berkeley

Over 220 Bay Area families have been happy with my loving and responsible cat sitting care. Whether shy, playful, grumpy, or affectionate, each kitty is given lots of attention, just the way they like it. I carefully follow your instructions to provide food, water, waste clean up, medication, and TLC for your kitties. You will receive proof that your cat(s) and home are well cared for, so that you can relax on your trip. This comes in the form of daily updates with pictures or videos. You are also welcome to call, email, or text if you have concerns or if you're just missing your little one(s). Who will be providing the snuggles, company, and playtime for your cat(s)? Myself, Mzima ( "mmm-ZEE-muh"), a 34 year old woman who was born and raised in the Bay Area. I have years of professional cat sitting experience, am trained in cat first aid, and am fully insured as a cat and house sitter. Joining me is my daughter, who is a natural with cats. She is calm, gentle, and appropriately affectionate with kitties. She is respectful of other people's homes and although she has never caused any damage, is also covered by my insurance, just in case. We are quiet, friendly neighbors. No smoking or partying and we leave your house as clean or cleaner than you left it. Overnight Care: We follow your cat's morning and evening routines and welcome your cat(s) to join us in bed at night. During the day, I often work from the computer at home and so can provide additional daytime company. Each 24 hour period includes 12-20 hours of company for your cat(s). My service also includes home protection measures such as: collecting the mail, watering plants, taking the trash/recycling bins in and out, moving your car for street sweeping, and keeping an eye out for any maintenance needs or emergencies. I'm happy to provide additional help such as: mailing you that must-have item that you left at home or shopping for the food/drink essentials before you return (like organic milk for your morning coffee). I am also a Reiki practitioner which can be especially helpful for kitties who are in pain, anxious, or elderly. Wondering if I can help you with your unique situation? Please reach out and ask. I currently have some availability for spring and summer of 2017 but I book up quickly; so message me now, so that we can discuss your cat sitting needs. I look forward to speaking with you, Mzima (pronounced "mmm-ZEE-muh")

I feel really lucky to have found Mzima. I decided to have her stay overnight at my house because my sweet kitty gets lonely and once or twice a day visits didn’t feel like enough. Mzima sent me the cutest pictures, videos, and text updates of my baby and it was such a relief to not have to worry or feel guilty while I was gone. When I came home, I found a happy relaxed kitty, a clean house, and a batch of freshly baked cookies. I highly recommend Mzima (and her daughter who is so gentle and sweet with cats)!

I feel very fortunate to have found Mzima. I can really tell the difference between her and previous sitters I have used. I think with the other ones, they just wanted a house to stay in and my cats were an after thought. With Mzima and her daughter, I could tell my cats were the priority. She took notes for all the complicated feeding and litter box routines we have and sent me updates to put my fears at ease. Really, can you put a price on finding a loving person to take superb care of your fur babies? I felt like her rates were a true bargain for the service we received. While I was away, one of my cats was straining to urinate and after communicating with us, Mzima took him to the vet. The vet said it was a good thing she noticed and responded right away or else it could have been much more serious. I'm so grateful for Mzima's watchful eye and now feel I can plan trips freely, knowing my cats have a loving "auntie" and "cousin" to come spoil them while I'm gone.
