House Sitter in Athens, Alabama

Hi! My name is Tamara C and I am a 34 year old wife and mother of one. I am a homeowner of a 97 year old historic home in Athens, Alabama. I have two special-needs cats, one special-needs senior dog, and one energetic adult terrier. As a special-needs pet mama, I understand some of our furbabies need a little extra care and attention to live their best lives. My cat, Ochre, is a tripod rescue kitty, while my other cat, Atticus, was born with deformed front paws. Our senior dog, Sally, is blind and has arthritis, so she requires a lot of patience and love. And then there's Jackson, our five year old terrier mix, who is full of energy and the constant need for play and stimulation. Being a historic homeowner means I know what it takes to care for a home with character. My husband and I enjoy the occasional DIY around our home and we have experience understanding when something in our home isn't quite right or needs extra attention. Our home is equipped with a gas stove and water heater, so I know exactly how gas works and I know the signs of a gas leak. If you employ me to house sit, your home and pets are in the hands of someone who truly understands that your pets are your children and your home is your castle. I get it because that's how I feel about my home and furbabies too! Lastly, I'm an introverted writer and artist who is happiest curled up with a book or a sketchpad. I've had the privilege of being a stay-at-home mother since we had our child almost 12 years ago and to be honest, I'm not in need of the extra income, but more looking for the occasional opportunity to get some "mommy time" away. And house/pet sitting sounds like a dream come true. If you decide to hire me, you're hiring someone who will care for your home and your furbabies as I would my own: with patience, experience, and love. I am available for weekends only at this time. I am willing travel anywhere in the Tennessee Valley. I am not willing to do housework/housekeeping beyond what your pets need or what I use while working in your home. I will not use your dishes or food items. I will however clean and put away any linens I use. I will also utilize paper towels, brooms, mops, rags, and other household cleaning items you grant me permission to use to clean up after pet related messes (food, puddles, bowel movements). I will request a list of items I have permission to use in order to maintain your home and pets. Items not listed will not be used. Please feel free to shoot me a message.
