House Sitter in Halifax, Nova Scotia

I'm an
Individual
I work online, and have no other commitments, so I will be at your house 24/7 except for the occasional grocery run or doctor's appointment. I currently have an ankle injury so I can't do much on-leash dog walking, especially with larger dogs. But I'm happy to stand in one place and throw a ball, if that's all that is needed. I can still handle the basic trash-and-mail duties, but probably won't be able to shovel out large amounts of snow. For your pets: the ankle injury means I will spend a lot of time lying down and providing lap space for petting. I have always owned cats, and I've also fostered several cats and helped care for feral cats through a rescue organization. I know how to handle many cat-related issues, from behaviour to health. I find it helps to solve problems when you think about things from the cat's point of view. I have only a little experience with small pets / fish / birds but I'm excellent at following instructions and figuring things out. I have a cat who will be traveling with me, he is very chill and friendly to other cats and dogs. I know how to introduce pets for the first time properly, and most of the cats who meet him fall in love. I hope you will be ok with me bringing him along! I'm a mid-30s Canadian-American dual citizen with a Subaru and a wandering heart. I freelance as a graphic designer online but I'm currently taking a break from full-time work to focus on writing and research for an upcoming book. I need a quiet space to be alone and focus, and pet-sitting or house-sitting is a way I can have the quiet I need without paying a lot of money in rent. I also like to move around to different places while I'm working on a large project, I find that a change in scenery stimulates new ideas when I get stuck. While I am just beginning on my house-sitting journey, I believe I bring a lot to the table already. The nature of my job as a graphic designer and a self-employed person means I have to be extremely detail-oriented and responsible. My clients have found me to be a reliable and trustworthy person, they regularly entrust me to hold and pay out large amounts of money to sub-contractors. As well, I have the ability to distinguish between the situations that I should handle myself, and the times when I need to ask questions or seek help. Let me know if you need any references, or have questions about specific knowledge that I have.
