December 28, 2017 I am excited to recommend Hortencia Lara as a house sitter for your home and family. I was first introduced to Hortencia when she was a Senior in high school when she was moved by her father to our community. Hortencia is an individual that sets her goals very high and works tirelessly to achieve her goals, despite no support from her father and family. While in high school Hortencia took on the responsibility of her three younger siblings making sure that they had a home, were fed, their clothes were clean and that they were prepared and attended school each day. This was an overwhelming responsibility for a young woman who was also completing her high school requirements. Hortencia did all of this without a driver’s license in a community without public transportation, so she had to walk where every she needed to go. This demonstrates her tenacity, diligence and firm commitment to her responsibilities. Hortencia will care for your home in the same stellar fashion with attention to every detail and responsibility. I have continued our friendship with Hortencia throughout her college career at the University of Nebraska. During her college studies when she, was home on breaks, she worked in our home assisting with house cleaning, food preparation (she reads and follows a recipe to the letter, even when she is not familiar with what she is making) and school organizational tasks for my husband who was a high school Agricultural Educator. She did an outstanding job, preforming each task far beyond our expectations. Hortencia also worked for several of my friends helping them with deep cleaning in their homes and all raved about the outstanding work she does. Hortencia, completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in five years after a significant major change and challenges created by her Mother and Father and their heavy expectations on her for financial and emotional support. Hortencia’s instructors were very impressed with her attention to detail in all her assignments and ability to work independently as well as being a strong contributing member within group projects. Hortencia has now completed her Master’s Degree in a brief time frame and is starting her PhD. Being a house sitter will provide her with a living environment so that she can focus on her studies, helping her reduce her daily costs for housing. She will be very respectful of your home and belongings while insuring that your home is safe in your absence.
