My name is Ida Eschenroeder, I am 37 years old and I have five children. I am a student studying Psychology with a minor in Sociology. I have two years left to graduate with my Bachelors Degree. I have not housesitted a whole lot but I have in the past. My ex husband is in the German Air Force and when any of his comrades were on vacation out of state or the country I would be the one they would call to watch their homes while they were away. I would not stay over night at their homes due to fact that we all lived in a reasonable distance from each other. Therefore I would go twice a day to check their homes, open up curtains and blinds to make it look as if someone was home. At night I would go back, close blinds and curtains. I did a perimeter check of the outside of the house, then I would leave two lights on in the house, made sure every single window was locked and secured as well as the back door and garage. I would turn on timers for the sensor lights and leave the front light on. I then would put the alarm on and lock up front door and gates that needed to be closed and locked. I also housesat for my aunt who would go to Mexico for vacation every spring break, and I would house sit and restaurant sit for her. When I would be asked to watch the house and her restaurant I would stay the night at her house. I would take my own food, blankets and hygiene so that I wouldn't use hers. Her bedroom was off limits unless she asked me to get something. That was just my rule for her house. I would clean her home, water her yard and trees. I would also open up the restaurant in the morning, and close up in the night.
