Non-smoker who has been house and dog sitting for the past year. What I always do, and why every house I sat for recommends me, is: Respect the owner and their house Keep the house up to your(the owner's) cleaning standards or better (usually better) Follow all rules and tasks Beat off burglars with a frying pan. Okay, I maybe stretching it. Let's face it, an occupied house is the deterrent. If you have dogs - I'll love them like they were my own. Including asking the age old question "who's the good doggy?" Of course, this is while rubbing their head and scratching behind their ear. I will also feed and watch outdoor cats.
