Security, love, companionship for your family pet and home. Hi, I am Kathleen Shandley, a senior, whose dependable, trustworthy, honest, and clean. I have approximately seven years of house/pet sitting dogs, cats, horses, and a parakeet. I love being around animals. They are so honest in their expressions, you can almost hear them talking. Safety and security is the name of the game, along with some good monitoring. Walking dogs and playing games is not only fun for them, but for me also. Playing a light game with cats and kittens proves to provide a good time along with some laughter. Especially when I get a roll of yarn out. I spent a lot of time in my youth riding horses at the local stables. It’s fun to have them nuzzle for attention, but sometimes I think they are really asking for a carrot or apple. Parakeets are fun to observe and I enjoy watching them when they decide to do their little dances and chirp. I am very fond of our wildlife. It’s funny how a duck followed me home one night, well that’s what I told my family. Truth is, he was a mallard who had been grazed by a car and was walking in circles. I picked him up and took him home. He had an injured wing and the local animal habitat told me how to nurse him back to health. What a wonderful day it was when I turned him loose in a river with some other ducks. Great to see him so happy. So, here’s a little bit about myself. I worked in a mill for about five years, had thirteen years in the silicon wafer industry, and six years at a food bank. I volunteered at the food bank for a year before they took me on part time. I also worked about a year and a half at a flight school. That was awesome. My main interests and hobbies are playing my guitar, drums, and occasionally, I get my trumpet out to see if I can still play it. (I found out I should really brush up on that). Lately, I have found out that I would like to try my hand at writing stories and essays. Wherever I go to house/pet sit, my guitar and lap top go with me. Thank you for your time!
