House Sitter in Whittier, California

I spent 1 1/2 years moving between four historic homes for Magnolia Enterprises in San Antonio Texas. In the morning I unlocked the house and laid out the tools for all the crews restoring the historic homes back to their original condition. During the day I worked with the crews or did general clean up. In the evening I locked the place up and cleaned the property up, then I spent the night and guarded the properties. My duties ranged from going under the house and digging ditches for the plumbers but mainly I helped the carpenters. But I was also known as "the pet", because I did whatever the owner needed. I did everything from walk the dog to water the roses...whatever Mrs. Fugit wanted, I did. And if there was nothing for me to do, I kept myself busy cleaning up the property. Also, we had four houses going on at once, all on the same block, so if there wasn't anything going on at one house I checked in at all the others. But at night I had to lock everything up, clean all the houses, and then guard them all night. I even went so far as to buy security night lights for the houses so I could see better at night. After we completed the fourth house, she decided not to purchase any more houses. The Post Office was next door to my job. The property was not being used so people used to "squat" there and I would go in there and throw them out. One day I bought some trash bags and went next door and cleaned up the property. Then I bought some landscaping tools and trimmed all the trees and bushes so that I could see onto the property from my job. I threw all the trash over the fence into the dumpster at my work. When the owner came, he asked who cleaned up the property, then he came to my job and asked if I'd like to take care of the building for him. I took care of that building for three years, until we finally got a buyer for the property. Once that job was up, I decided got a job offer in California so I came back home. But the job only lasted a few weeks, so I'm looking for work right now. But House Sitting is right up my alley. And I do more than house sit. I walk the property, take care of the yard and keep the place clean...as well as secure the property at night.
