House Sitter in New Orleans, Louisiana

Nice to meet you! I answer to both “Nancy” or my nickname “Butterfly”. I am a 59 yr old New Orleans based artist (& retired teacher of gifted children) living in a home that once was stately before being sold & made into several tiny apartments. I am simply interested in spending a bit of time in the grand older homes in the area in which I live, the Garden District (or Uptown—I’ll consider other safe areas) I love architecture & the sheer experience of meeting my “neighbors” and taking in the breath taking atmosphere of an antebellum home, or one with a lot of character would be exciting. If you’ve pets, I love them & would be happy to spend time as take care of them ( my one exception is pit bulls—I apologize, but a feral pit dug under my fence & killed a beloved dog of mine a few years back. Maybe it’s not fair, & I apologize, but since the attack ‘be i developed an unjustified fear of the breed. My full time companion, my PTSD service dog in training, Malachi, a Sheltie is very well behaved and of course, completely housebroken. He loves to meet new animal friends to play, is very socialable & submissive with other dogs & LOVES to run with other dogs who stop by here in our yard to play as the owner & I chat. (I must add he’s not neutered, as he will be a stud dog as he comes from a championship line.) Chi gets along great with all dogs he’s ever met, but it’s always a possibility this may pose a problem for your dog. Malachi & Paris, my 20 yr old sun conure, small parrot, get along swimmingly. She will be kept inside a cage while we’re housesitting if you wish. If you plan to be gone several weeks, I’ll still consider house sitting for you. I’d love to someday have a room in a grand old New Orleans mansion. Til then, I’d just like to get a wee taste of “the good life” beforehand. I’m volunteering to housesit, which implies staying with your pets the majority of the day & spending the night with them. This is not to be confused with me staying in my apartment and driving to your house 3 times a day to walk your dog for free. Texting is much better for me thanu email.
