House Sitter Job in Austin, Texas

I'm an
Individual
US: Hey y’all! I’m Becca, and my partner Shelby and I recently relocated to Austin after 10 years in Denver, CO. We brought our small hobby farm with us and are on the hunt for someone we can trust to hold down the fort when we’re away. We have typically offered $80 PER NIGHT to our past assistants- we developed a great bond with our incredible house sitter back in Denver and are hoping to find consistent and reliable help here. Our first vacation is October 26-October 29, and there would be potential for many more trips in the future. The tasks are all fairly simple, but we’re definitely looking for an animal lover who is comfortable picking up a chicken and won’t mind occasional full-body hugs from a gigantic excited puppy. These animals all love routine and generally know what to expect/what’s expected of them, however managing the quantity could feel hectic or overwhelming to some. All of the dogs are well behaved, friendly, and know (at least) basic obedience—they also are either huge, strong, dopey, dramatic, or all the above. If you’ve handled multiple dogs at a time, you’ll know what I mean 🙃 TASKS: -Feed dogs morning and evening -15 min walks for dogs early morning and late evening, when weather is cooler (we usually take 2 at a time on back to back short walks - we have several multi-dog leashes, walking belts, etc. for you!) -Ensure chickens have fresh food and water, and put our special needs chicken in the coop each night around sunset -Collect chicken eggs and mail/packages -Scoop poo from the yard and chicken coop -Stay overnight in our guest wing (super comfy King size bed!) with access to TV, wifi. We would never require that you be home the entire day, but prefer for the dogs to not be left alone longer than 4-6 hours at a time max -Possibly water plants depending how long we are out of town for ANIMALS: Pepper (8 yr old Heeler mix, 65 lbs) Popcorn (4 yr old French bulldog, 20 lbs) Salami (2 yr old bulldog, 55 lbs) Goose (1 yr old Bernese Mountain Dog, 100 lbs) 3 funny, friendly hens - our Frazzle has a deformed foot thus cannot climb into the coop NEXT STEPS: We’re happy to meet the right person via FaceTime, send pictures, or have you over to the house for a meet & greet prior to vacation. If this sounds like something you’re comfortable with, please reach out!
