House Sitter in Nutley, New Jersey

I'm an
Individual
I have always considered myself to be an organized, independent, patient, caring and giving the person. But among these many virtues, I know that I can be stubborn, a bit of a pusher and a questioner. I am currently targeting these characteristics and with conscious thought and guidance. I hope to utilize these features to be a beneficial aid in my career. I believe that it does not matter where a child comes from, but that everyone should be assisted in every way possible. No one should ever be left behind. My field of focusing is child welfare (teacher). I believe that younger children are often not the focus and they become the focus as teenagers and adults once they get into trouble and the criminal justice or child protection system. As a teacher, helping children that may have fallen behind, those kids society has failed. Our education organizations, unfortunately, are not perfect, but they do provide a significant step in bettering our community. Many countries do not have a system anything close to ours in effect. My heart is with young children, but have no problem working with older children. I currently have a non-profit organization which services the needs of a homeless family, people, and children. Professionally I have had the privilege of working at Hudson Milestone. Hudson Milestone is an organization that works to assist children struggling with developmental skills. Often, children that lack developmental skills have a difficult time recognizing their names or small words that are is important. One of my primary duties at Hudson Milestones was to work with the children and teach them methods for recognizing everyday words and communication skills that help them express when they are in public and need of assistance. Another important responsibility was to assist the children to learn life skills such as cleaning, cooking meals, personal hygiene, general handling of money, searching the internet and interview skills. Working with developmentally challenged children has taught me the importance of becoming a teacher and looking out for a spectrum of society that is often forgotten. During my internship, I intern at the YMCA, (city). In this position, I mainly work with teenagers who have criminal records and are in need of someone to talk too, and as well I work with adolescences who cannot read or write. My work at the YMCA consists of conducting group sessions surrounding the topic of crime and the underlying issues that cause teenagers to commit crimes in the first place. I also have the opportunity to work with the adolescences to facilitate and promote open discussion among each other. The work I am doing at the YMCA has inspirited me to organize and run a donation drive a few times a year to provide life necessities such as clothing and food to teens and families in need, and also store reading with the little children. Among all these activities I make time for some community outreach, every year I give donations to different organizations, I also volunteer reading, helping with homework, and serving Thanksgiving meals with homeless shelters. That being said, I believe my open mind to different ways of seeing things, interacting differently with different diversity and as a future therapist has to build me to the women I am today also want to be in the future.
