House Sitter in Charles Town, West Virginia

Hello! We're Daena & Paul, we're 49 years old and just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. Together, we've run a small town accounting firm for 20 years and are now semi-retired working part-time for our clients via the internet. Our work involves caring for the personal and business finances of others and we enjoy being trusted advisors to our clients. Building trust by being honest and dependable is critical to our work and we bring that same approach to house sitting. We're tidy by nature, respect other people's homes and possessions and feel honored to be invited to stay in someone's home.   Over the years we've house-sat for family, friends, and clients; caring for their homes, animals, and businesses when they were out of town. When our daughter started college it occurred to us that house-sitting would be a great way to be both the home-bodies we are while becoming the travelers we strive to become.  We own 2 homes, both rentals now and have cared for yards, house plants, pools, spas, and done many small home repairs & renovations. We each spent time, while growing up, on farms caring for small livestock (chickens, pigs, horses, goats, rabbits, etc.) and doing basic gardening and chores. We both love the outdoors. Over the years, we've had many pets (dogs, cats, fish, birds, guinea pigs, mice, etc.) and really enjoyed our time with them, our pets were part of our family. Our cats and dog all lived into old age and we learned how to care for aging pets, including giving pills, caring for arthritis, joint pain and mobility limitations. We love meeting new animals and discovering their personalities, quirks, and ways of communicating. Our idea of a fun afternoon is playing with a cat and his favorite string or taking a dog for a walk or a fetch. Even fish can be fascinating to watch to learn their habits and behaviors. Animals really are amazing. We've lived on the east coast our whole adult lives but grew up in different places around the U.S. as our parents were in the military. We're available to house-sit anywhere in the U.S. depending on where we plan to be at that time. We're available for short-term and long-term sits. We'd love to hear from you!
