House Sitter in Angier, North Carolina

Hi! I'm Barb. I'm 45, single, non-smoking, a work-at-home technical writer, and a mature, responsible person looking for a new adventure without having to be super adventurous. Ironic, right? I've lived in Raleigh/Angier for 30 years (not including the 5 years I spent in Boone getting my 2 college degrees from Appalachian State University). I owned my first home for 17 years in Raleigh and I have been in my new home in Angier for just over 2 years. I need a change in my life, but I'm not a big fan of huge change. I'm renting my home to a young couple I've known for nearly 20 years (just to cover mortgage and their expenses as they begin their lives together as newlyweds) so that I am free to explore new places. I have a job that affords me the opportunity to work wherever I am and a super-supportive boss who is really excited about my interest in this new venture. I can and will maintain my current employment as I house/pet sitting. I'm a home body and house/pet sitting affords me the opportunity to continue to live as I am comfortable and at the same time have exposure to new environments (it does get old starring at the same four walls after several years). I had a dog growing up and I am around many dogs, cats, and horses via my friends. The only reason I have not had a pet of my own is that I cannot cope with the idea of a beloved pet dying. Loving my friends' animals and YOURS enables me to experience the joys of caring for pets and they continue to live forever in my heart. I understand the responsibilities of home ownership. I believe in treating your space as I treat my own - with respect and integrity. I keep things clean and I love to cook. I've been on my own for 2 decades as an adult and I have managed my home and consistent full-time employment. If it needed to get done, it got done by me. I would love to speak with you about your home and pet care needs. I'm looking for short-term, NC opportunities over the summer. I'm hoping to make the move to full-time world-traveling house/pet sitter in the fall.
