House Sitter in Portland, Oregon

A little information about us… We recently left our jobs in title insurance to find our next adventure in life. We love to read anything we can get our hands on, camp for free all over the country, hike, rock climb, cook food from all over the world, practice yoga and meditate. We are flexible and open-minded about where we stay and looking to learn from the environment around us. We are interested in meeting new people, places and pets while bringing the specific kind of care and attention needed for each house sit. I (Meridian) did quite a bit of housesitting during the breaks in college. I've house sat for 1 week to a full month caring for dogs, cats, gardens and houses. My fingers are always crossed that things go smoothly, but I have dealt with difficult dogs, minor flooding and minor earthquake damage - so I'm used to stepping up when things don't go according to plan. I've also done some WWOOFing (volunteer organic farming) so I'm very comfortable with other animals (rabbits, chickens, goats) and with garden maintenance. Will helped with a few of Meridian's housesitting gigs but has LOTS of experience with animals. He grew up with golden retrievers, has animal-sat and fostered dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, goats and birds and did wild animal rescue while living in Australia and Washington D.C. Will has worked as a gardener/landscaper and WWOOFed as well so he's happy to care for outdoor spaces. We are easy-going by nature but attentive and thorough in addressing whatever duties and issues come our way. We look to care for your space like our own, meaning we are proactive in preventing problems before they arise. We're energetic and love to hike so we'd be a good fit for high energy animals but we're also homebodies - so we'd be just as happy to hang out with a fluffy friend and a good book.
