House Sitter in Los Angeles, California

Hi, I'm Deborah and I love being out in the world experiencing life and cultures. Currently, I am unavailable to house-sit. However, I'm interested when I return to Los Angeles. As a house-sitter, I have always been asked back. As a CouchSurfing..... guest, I am typically invited to stay longer. I'm sure you wonder how a person can be free to come stay in your home. And, frankly, you likely want to be certain the person will leave when you return. By trade, I'm a freelance writer. You may have read some of my books & columns about Mac and web, Perhaps my Clarisworks Office for Dummies or Adobe GoLive Bible. These days I prefer to write about travel. As I can write from wherever I call home, I am able to house-sit & truly care for your home while you're away. In 2011 I gave away almost everything I owned to have that freedom to travel. Since then I have been able to explore the world for a year or more, then stay "home" in LA for a year or so, then go out again. I will always return to LA to see family and friends. I will also always respect and observe country's visa limits. I assure you here, and in writing, if you'd like, that I will leave your home upon your return or as you wish. I had a sublet in LA in 2016 in order to visit family. However, when a former client needed me for a specific dog, I left that sublet to help for those days. The previous time I was in LA for a year, I house-sat pretty much that entire time, returning to most homes several times in that year. My sitting, from a NYC Brownstone to Historic Registry homes in LA, to Kosher and vegan homes, to other countries has been word of mouth so far, so listing here is new to me. I am a responsible adult in good health. I take care of homes as if they were prized possessions, keep in touch w/you while you're gone if you wish, look after everything from dishes to your car. Trash goes out, things stay clean, cars started or moved, plants cared for, gardens watered, even light bulbs changed and refrigerators cleaned. I have also taken care of home offices. For pets, it's best we discuss. I am great with small pets (which have included guinea pigs and rabbits) sometimes including small & clean dogs. I have not provided a rate as that depends upon the location, pets, your pet's schedule, etc. I welcome gardens and plants. REFERENCES Having worked in TV production for a CBS affiliate, I've had FBI security clearance to be near a Presidential candidate & then again had it to teach in CA. My house-sitting clients have happily provided references. They'd be happy to speak with you. However, I don't feel right putting their names and phone numbers online.
