House Sitter Job in Tucson, Arizona

My partner and I work at the University and are looking for a responsible cat lover to stay at our house and look after our two kittens and some plants while we are traveling internationally. The two kittens, Espen and Alma, are 6-month-old sisters. They are extremely playful and affectionate. I know that most people think that cats are ok left alone for long periods with giant bowls of food and water left for them, but I feel strongly that this is not humane treatment. This is especially the case with Espen and Alma, who adore people and love to be held and petted constantly. The ideal person for this job is, therefore, someone who would enjoy cuddling and playing with them but also understands how to discipline them responsibly. As kittens, they still often claw furniture and people (without meaning to hurt), though we are working to stop this. The person who takes this job thus must be aware that they may get scratched. Specific tasks would include: — Staying at our house while we are gone (not 24 hours a day, but overnight at least) — Feeding the cats according to a schedule — Playing with the cats and hanging out with them — Cleaning the litterbox once a day — Watering house plants every few days — Collecting mail — Take out trash/recycling We have a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house around Golflinks and Harrison. As the housesitter, you would have use of the guest room and whatever else in the house you need to live comfortably. We have strong wifi, washer/dryer, a TV with internet, and a nice outdoor area.
