House Sitter in Mendham, New Jersey

Hello, I am currently a full-time professional freelance writer. I am currently seeking caretaking opportunities that let me travel and work in a quiet, comfortable space. A brief bit of information about me: I am very quiet, mature, and respectful of others' privacy. In my spare time I enjoy running, hiking, art, and reading. I am calm, inquisitive, and kind-hearted. I am quick and observant, I have a good sense of humor, and I get along well with many types of people (and animals). I am extremely neat and clean, and guarantee I will keep your house spotless! I am currently a proud owner of two adopted Norwegian elk hounds. I have an affinity (and good disposition) for dealing with animals that have been neglected and/or abused. At age 13 I adopted a rescue horse named Coleman, who was en route to a slaughterhouse because he was deemed unfit to be around children. Coleman had been abused by a previous (male) owner, but through gentle coaching I was able to gain his trust - and I got a free pet! I have rehabilitated injured birds and turtles in the past, and I have also owned rabbits and two geckos. I have pet-sat for many dogs and cats, including the pets of relatives, family friends, and strangers. This includes care-taking for a celebrity-owned ranch in Southern California. I've worked with energetic dogs (including my aunt Amy's dog Addie and my sister's Havanese puppy) and lethargic dogs (my grandparents' dog Lily, and a 16 year-old black lab in Brattleboro, VT!). I do own several plants, including a Philodendron that has been a hassle-free companion for several years. I have a cactus and fern as well, and am hoping to expand my green-leafed collection. In terms of house care, I have watched over homes for family members, college professors, and many others. I take pride in being a dutiful, honest, and vigilant caretaker, and I have received very positive feedback for my fastidious house-sitting. I will expand that description to include my vacations around the world at AirBnB homes, where I have a 5-star rating for being an exceptional, respectful, and courteous guest. I suppose my guiding principle is that I strongly believe that I should treat another's home as I would my own.
