House sitter in New York City, New York

2020 was to be my sabbatical year from the city: I spent the first 4 months on an intensive meditation training in the Himalayas and planned to teach, travel and perform (I'm a classical singer) the rest of the year.

Then cue: COVID!

I may still get to travel, a bit, domestically should things open up later this year; but I'm otherwise, back in the US (currently quarantining outside the city) having sublet my coop for the year (since I planned to be away).

So I'm hoping to find housesitting work in NYC, upstate NY, the Berkshires or LA this Summer/Fall. I am deep at work on a few creative projects, hoping to teach meditation, more, when social distancing eases and also still consulting to speakers on the lecture circuit as I spent 8 years at boutique intellectual talent firm as a Vice President of Sales where I managed the lecture career of the likes of Salman Rushdie, Margaret Atwood, Steven Pinker amongst others.

For what it's worth, I hold degrees from Johns Hopkins and NYU; as well as a music performance degree from Peabody Conservatory with post-graduate studies at the Curtis Institute. I'm a single, female homeowner, myself, and therefore really respect people's property and care for others' abodes as though they were my own.

My father had a saying, growing up, that one should leave a room a "little bit better" than she found it. I try to live by this precept--be it in my home, a friend's, a hotel room or for a client. It's elevating to know that, even in some small, minor way, we can always improve the status quo for others.

Description of Skills:
I am happy to help with plant watering, errand running, pet care, mail collecting etc. Depending on the nature of the task, I'm also open to discussing organizational tasks, if you need, as I love to clean out/organize spaces. With respect to my history, I don't have formal experience house-sitting; though I did spend a lot of time in my youth nannying--for a wide array of families in Baltimore, Philadelphia and outside of NYC--and people have been more than happy to entrust their children to me, so rest assured, I will show the same astute care to your home.

Booking An Appointment:
Please feel free to write me through this site so to discuss further should my skill set resonate with what you need. I also welcome queries about other related tasks/projects since each need is unique.
