House Sitter in San Jose, California

I am a US Army veteran and mother of two teens. We are an animal loving, serious student, homeschooling family who have been housesitting since summer 2017, including housesitting across the US after leaving Montreal, QC. Please read our excellent reviews below as we are new to this site - references can be provided!!! My children and I love animals! We have experience in caring for small and large (we love cats and pups) furry pets, feathery and small 'scaly' ones as well, and we know how to take care of various farm animals too. My son prefers to never be without a dog at his side, including sleeping with one, and loves all birds and turtles!! My daughter loves cats and horses best, and dogs too :). Both are gentle with senior pets, and in previous summers when I was working full time have been to McGill University's farm school camp, where they learned and practiced daily care of chickens, sheep, pigs, goats and rabbits. Both have had horseback riding lessons and are comfortable with basic care and grooming. Also, as an advanced learner my daughter earned an A from the University of Florida's The Horse Course: Introduction to Basic Care and Management, a 3 credit course and completed University of Edinburgh's EdiVet non-credit course. We know and love animals and our schedule offers us plenty of time to spend at your home while my children and I keep your pets company :) I have had many pets over the course of my life, as and we would love to take care of yours during housesits! Besides being available to house sit all year, we love long term sits best and would be especially grateful to housesit near San Jose for my daughter’s 2018 fall SAT and SAT subject tests and near any AP testing center for the 2 weeks of testing in May 2019 for writing a number of AP exams. She and her kids are delightful and my pets seem happier living with them than with me...honestly. They are doted on by the 2 tweens, get walked at least 2 miles a day, and have Aimee and the kids' company nearly 24/7. They send me cute pictures of my animals lounging on the bed, in laps, exhausted from a walk, etc. When I was leaving for the 1st stay I was going to swing by Costco to get the organic food I like for the dogs and Aimee said she'd do it. On about the 3rd stay with me some of his herbal medications were running out and they reordered those. This particular pet has some mild medical issues that could become urgent if unmonitored and they check him like a hawk to make sure everything's OK. Basically, I wish these guys would live with me. In fact, they'll be staying at my house, in total, over 2 months. They're AWESOME and I wouldn't hesitate to have them stay with me again and highly recommend them. You won't be disappointed. Carrie - Galveston, Texas, United States 20 - 30 Mar 2018 Aimee and her kids were a delight to have in my home and stay with my large fluffy dog. She reassured me with texts before they arrived letting me know they were on their way and daily photos of the dog while I was gone. My dog was well cared for during the stay and it was so much better than having him in a kennel. My dog got lots of attention and I returned to a home cleaner than when I left it :) She even put clean sheets on my bed so I could truly relax after a long day of overseas flights. Aimee reviewed my welcome guide with great detail. She was great about adapting to the peculiarities of my dog, doing daily ear cleaning, giving supplements and brushing. She was even gracious enough to adapt to a plumbing leak that occurred just before I departed, but didn't have time to fix. Once again, she reassured me that I would be notified if it got worse. Overall, Aimee and her kids are a great choice. This was my first time using TrustedHousesitters and she set the bar pretty high for all my future sitters. The house and the cats were all in great shape when we got home. No complaints. We were a bit unsure about having two teens at the house but it all turned out for the best as they were a constant source of attention for the cats. Aimee was great about sending photos. In the photos, the cats were usually reclined or sitting by one of her children. All good. She was in good communication with us before and during, sending daily pictures. She kept in touch the whole way up until arrival and during the house sit. I received pictures of Penney nearly every day. My trip ended earlier than planned which ended up in my coming home on short notice, which Aimee took in stride. Overall great experience. I'd highly recommend her. Aimee was great with her communication before the sit and during the sit. She was prompt and polite in our first contact and all following communication. She was great to quickly answer all of my inquires while we were gone. Aimee is very reliable and self-sufficient. She found her way to our home and around the local area with no problems. She was also very prepared for our sit as she and her daughter had read the entire welcome guide before they arrived. Aimee and the kids were loving and attentive to the cats and dog right from the start. They were kind and caring to everyone. They treated our home with care and it was very tidy when we came home. Aimee had all the laundry done and rooms cleaned for us. The pets were happy and calm when we returned home. I would definitely recommend Aimee and the kids to tend your home and/or animals! She watched over our home, 2 dogs, cat, and 2 guinea pigs for 6 weeks. They were spoiled and treated with kindness the entire 6 weeks. My home was kept up as well. I felt completely comfortable leaving my dog and home in Aimee's care. All the neighbors had good things to say about how well Geeta was cared for. Aimee even took care of things I didn't notice until after she left, like changing the water filter in the fridge. And her kids will shower your pet with affection and be respectful of your home.
