House Sitter in Nashville, Tennessee

I'm an
Individual
Aloha! My name is Heather and here is my story in a nutshell: Travel and adventure were firmly rooted in my soul at a young age. I was a white girl raised on Indian land and desperately wanted off. When I was 15, that opportunity presented itself and I became an experimental exchange student, spending a year in the Australian Outback. Since then my passport has been stamped in many countries throughout the world. When I was 16, I got my GROL (General Radiotelephone Operator License) from the FCC. Morse code was still a requirement for said license. I learned to dot/dot/space/space like a modern-day dervish. I followed that with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies & Journalism from CSU Sacramento and a Master’s degree in Rhetoric & Communication from UC Davis. There I taught Public Speaking to those deathly afraid to speak publicly. During the 80’s I worked in radio, pulling double duty as Promotions Director and weekend spinner of discs, followed by a stint in the music industry where I spent time in A&R, production, and as a glorified babysitter. Eventually, I worked as a music journalist for a major independent record label crafting band bios, press releases, and marketing materials. I have written articles for The 9513, American Noise, The Rolling Stone, Relix Magazine, and many other online forums. I also wrote a humorous column for the online dating site Match..... where I imparted such wisdom as, “if he doesn’t use a napkin, he’ll never use a ,” “celibacy is better than bad sex” and my heartfelt “Ode to the Quickie.” My Indian-land stories have appeared in Highlights for Kids and the Chicken Soup for the Soul (Farm Girl & Country Girl Series.) Today, I am a regular contributor to Fodor’s Travel, ROVA, GoNomad, and other notable travel publications. I have written a few books, among them The Noise Beneath the Apple, A Celebration of Busking in New York City, which won several awards, including a Book of the Year Award for Best Independently Produced Title from IndieFab. I have had the opportunity to be interviewed by KFUV Radio, Howard Stern, and Esquire Magazine. Today, travel continues to be a way of life. I live on the open roads full time, exploring this great country from the driver's seat of my19-foot Skoolie named Bubba (pre-and-post-COVID19). From these backroads,
