About Rebecca Hello and thanks for taking a moment to learn a little about me. I'm an upbeat, 51 year old single woman with a tremendous sense of adventure and great love for animals of all kinds! My family might tell you this “love” is over the top. But I don’t think so, just because I have to pet every dog I see… I grew up in Rockville, MD a suburb of Washington, DC and attended Boston University. I owned my first home when I was just 24 years old. It was a 2-bedroom condo in Bethesda, MD. At 38, I purchased 25 acres and a beautiful home in North Idaho. It was quite the change and learning experience. As I lived about 30 miles from the closest city, I got quite handy around the house and property. It was here I learned to use all the necessary tools; chainsaw, bush hog, hedge trimmer. Thank goodness, because I have had to use them ever since. I am good with plumbing, electrical, and not afraid of a little mouse. Snakes, well they are another story. I have had many passions over the years, ranging from creating and selling my beautiful horseshoe artwork, to nurturing my many gardens. I have owned and cared for 4 houses in my life (even had a hand in building one). I currently am living in and caring for a family home with 4 acres on the water south of Annapolis, Maryland. It is the "fun" summer home. It has an in ground pool, kayak, trampoline, fire pit...all the makings for a fun weekend for family and friends. It has been a win-win situation. The property looks impeccable when the family arrives and I get to enjoy their company and bask in the fruits of my labor (and compliments of course). I do all of the work myself, including tree trimming, lawn mowing, power washing, staining deck, pool maintenance....you name it and I do it. Since moving back to Maryland 12 years ago from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, I have been working in the “corporate” world again, saving my money and biding my time. The 3-hour daily commute has pretty much taken its toll. So, no time like the present! After several years of watching and researching house/pet sitting, I think it is the perfect fit for me! The reason for my life change, I like to travel, meet new people and stay in new places. Someone recently sent me the following quote “Travel. As much as you can. As far as you can. As long as you can. Life’s not meant to be lived in one place.” I have been lucky enough to travel far and wide, and will continue to do so. But for now, I hope to find amazing pets to bond with, beautiful houses to take care of. I love to hike, go to dog parks, walk around town…mostly I just enjoy being out in nature. I love the warm weather as much as the cold. I am not a drinker or smoker. NO . I am usually in bed by 9 pm. I sincerely hope you will consider me for your next house/pet sit. Warmly, Rebecca
