About Me: Hello! I'm Helen. I've been a house sitter and pet sitter since 1998 - and I love it! I have lived in Northbrook and Deerfield for more than 10 years and am seeking Northshore house sitting opportunities in Deerfield, Lake Forest, Libertyville, Northbrook, Bannockburn, Glencoe and Highland Park. I specialize in house sitting, including overnight stays, live-in short and long term, with or without pets. If you need someone who provides an extra level of service, someone who pays attention to all the little things and details, that's me. I consider it my job to relieve your stress about being away from home. You won't have to wonder whether your home and pets are being properly and conscientiously watched and cared for. Because I get it - I stress about those kinds of things too! I know what would set my mind at ease, and that's what I provide my clients. What I Can Do For You: More than 20 years ago I did my first house sitting gigs, and since then I have cared for homes of all sizes and complexity. I can check on your property, collect mail, turn lights off and on, check your security systems, do light landscaping or light snow removal, scoop the backyard poop, water indoor plants, do light pool and hot tub maintenance, take trash and recycling bins to the curb for collection, and even pick up the groceries you'll need for when you come home. I will also care for your pets with up to three exercise / playtime / dog park sessions or walks per day. I can oversee their health issues, administer medications and supplements, do litter box maintenance, prepare custom foods, and do daily brushing/grooming. I'm also a former horse owner, and though I no longer ride, I have experience with basic equine care, such as currying, cleaning hooves, feeding hay and grain, and turnout. I can also care for most exotic pets, with the exception of insects / tarantulas, parrots, and primates, since I have little to no experience with them. Reptiles (including snakes), amphibians, mice, rats, guinea pigs, ferrets, hamsters, gerbils, and tropical / betta / koi / goldfish of all kinds are perfectly fine. Let's Connect!
