Personal Message from Ken: Hi, I‘m Ken Crosby and have been house sitting for the past two plus years in Taos NM, Mendocino CA, Mt Shasta CA. and an Island in the Puget Sound. Presently My business partner, Cheryl Williams and I are the Caretakers, of a large Estate on the grounds of a former sugar plantation near Hilo Hawaii. My homeowners all have been pleased with the manner in which their homes were cared for. Several of the homes had cats, dogs, chickens and exotic birds. I love animals of all types and stripes. Animals seem to take a liking to me and I have been told that I am an “animal whisperer”. I enjoy connecting with them on a deeper, expanded conscious level. Availability and Preferences: Jan 15, 2015 I would like a medium to long-term house sitting job in Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, B.C. Canada, Northern CA, Utah, Arizona, Colorado or New Mexico. I will consider other locations around the world. Why House sitting: House Sitting enables me to care for lovely homes in beautiful locations. I particularly enjoy bonding with the pets including all the barnyard animals. Travel to new and interesting locations is my passion. House Sitting enables me to get to know the community and the surrounding region on a more personal level. Experience and Qualifications: Over the past two plus years I have taken 7 house sitting assignments in New Mexico, Northern CA, Washington and presently an Estate in Hawaii, for durations of one week to six months. My professional career, as a Real Estate Broker, representing buyers and sellers in the luxury home communities in North San Diego County was excellent preparation. My clients regularly left their homes in my care while they traveled or were away on business. In 2012, I retired after 27years. I am well qualified in the care and management of homes and estates. I understand the relationship needed to work with the "trades" and am able to keep ahead of potential repairs before they become disasters. References: Taos New Mexico 2012 Ken Crosby came in for a healing session and after the session mentioned that he was looking for a house sitting job. Immediately I thought about my friend who owns a lovely cabin in Taos Canyon on the edge of a creek. The place had been trashed by tenants and was a mess. Ken agreed to clean it up and the owner gave the green light. In just a few days the place had been transformed. Ken performed a miracle with that mountain cabin. Four months later when Ken moved out, the place was completely cleaned and the landscape was nicely manicured. The owner, George was amazed and grateful at how his cabin had been put back into pristine condition. You can most certainly know your house is in good hands when you leave it with Ken. Raiden Leigh Knight, Taos NM Mendocino CA 2013 My husband, Hans and I took a very special trip to visit Sweden, Han’s homeland. We were gone for more than 6 weeks and realized that we had left our home and mini ranch in Ken Crosby’s care with minimal instruction. Our home is out in the redwoods far from any town and there are several complex systems not normally found in urban homes. We left in a hurry and hoped that Ken would be able to keep the place operational. Well he did… and even was able to do repairs that we would have found difficult. We had loaned our old Toyota truck to one of our friends for several days and asked Ken to make sure our friend returned it. When the truck was not returned as expected, Ken tracked it down and determined that our friend had been in an accident and the truck was totaled. Ken did all of the leg and phone work to make sure our friend was O.K. and not in need of care. We asked Ken to contact the insurance company on our behalf to get things rolling, as we were out of the country. He did a fantastic job and we are truly grateful for his help in this matter. Now we are talking about another trip to Sweden and parts of Europe and hope Ken will be available for this trip, as we feel very safe and comfortable leaving our house/property in Ken’s care. Hans & Anne Bruhner, Mendocino CA. Mount Shasta CA. 2013 Ken Crosby has house sat for me twice so far. The first was a week where I left my old, mostly deaf dog, Sara (who has since passed), my two cats and a Chinese fighting fish in his care. He did great with my “kids” and each one developed a nice bond with him. My cats and dog all required special diets and Charlie, the fish needed his bowl cleaned twice a week. I have several beautiful house plants that Ken watered and tended to as well. My house was cleaner than I left it and all living beings (pets and plants) were healthy and happy upon my return home! The second time he house-sat for me was when I went to Hawaii for 3 weeks. While in Maui, I spontaneously decided to extend my trip for additional week so as to be there a full month. Fortunately Ken was flexible and could extend his house/animal sitting so I could do this without having to make different arrangements. Again, he did a great job and I came home to a beautiful, clean house with happy animals! I would highly recommend Ken as a house/animal sitter. He’s always my first choice. Harstine Island, South Puget Sound WA 2014 Ken House Sat my home on Harstine Island and was responsible for the care and feeding of my 12 hand raised chickens, My canary, which until Ken, hated men and a Standard Size Poodle. All my pets were happy and healthy and my home was left much cleaner than when I left. I would use Ken again in a heartbeat. Your pets will be my personal responsibility to provide loving care and keep them happy and healthy during my stay. Your house and grounds will be kept in good order. Small repairs will be handled by me and the ones past my "pay grade" will be handled by your trades people with your approval and my supervision. We will set up a method for 2-way communication, by phone, or internet and establish guidelines to follow when anything out of the ordinary needs attention.
