Who I Am: Thank you for visiting my profile. I am available March 2018. I respond within 24 hours unless I am traveling but within 48 always. I am a fit, active, honest and responsible Canadian woman who owns several businesses. I work in the online space (digital marketing) which allows me to work from home with flexibility. I have been thoroughly vetted by the U.S. and Canadian authorities via the Global Entry / Nexus (fast-track expedite border/custom entry) program. Travel is a big passion of mine and I love to meet new people and of course animals because I think they make our world an infinitely better place to be. I enjoy experiencing new cultures and finding new adventures. I am a fun loving, easy going, energetic person and find that amazing things happen even when things don't go as planned, I always look for the gift in an experience and I usually find it. I love animals and the environment and therefore have chosen to lead a vegan lifestyle. I enjoy cooking and believe that coconut milk can make anything taste amazing! I love making raw food deserts, doing yoga, hiking, biking, playing golf and doing anything crafty. A few years ago on a pet sit in Sun City, Arizona I spent 6 weeks at a Senior's Center where they taught me how to do wood working and jewelery, including silversmithing & lapidary (cutting rocks). That was an amazing experience. I am kind and caring and my default is to give people the benefit of the doubt. I am a home owner and financially secure. I often travel on my own and have spent the past 4 winters in the Dominican Republic where I get to live like a local. I am independent and resourceful and relish the challenges that come with living in different environments. Services And Training: It’s a way to explore destinations that I might not normally choose to visit or think to visit. It is an easy way to open myself up to new experiences and I love to get to know a place and live like a local. I have owned pets in the past and I love the companionship they provide. As I do love to travel so much, owning a pet has not been in the cards, therefore I have recently taken to fostering dogs. It has been one of the best and most rewarding experiences of my life. My first foster dog was a pitbull lab mix named Nova in who I met in December 2017 and we buddied up for about 6 weeks. I built her a website and helped her get successfully adopted. If you would like to check it out, it is here. https://....com Then after that I fostered the sweet, Shrek -like Suzie Q, a mastiff, lab mix. My business is health related so for my foster dogs, I enjoyed ensuring that just like I do for my human clients, that they got the best homemade organic additions to their regular foods, it is fun for me and I really noticed a difference in them over time. If this is of interest to you, just let me know, otherwise, we stick to what your dog knows. I also enjoy training dogs, so if there is anything you would like to work on, let me know. I am not an expert but it is always fun to see a dog learn a new skill that will make them an even better companion. As a teenager, I had a horse (Quarterhorse) and cats and several German Shepherd dogs. I adopted a beautiful Siamese cat from a shelter who had 5 kittens, as a 12 year old that was a dream come true. MY EXPERIENCE I have completed a few sits here on Trusted Pet Sitters as most of the other sits that I have done have been through word of mouth or for friends. Pet Care: I am experienced and confident taking care of rescue dogs, dogs of all sizes and ages including puppy and senior dogs. I love to walk, run and hike and my goal is for your buddy to be happily exhausted if he/she is a young energetic dog and if he/she is an older dog, my goal is for them to enjoy their golden years as anyone should, with little worry and stress but enough activity to keep them healthy. I also enjoy spending time outside hanging out and brushing their coats. They usually love it and I find it a nice way to bond. I have experience with cats, horses and ducks. I have taken care of pets including: Dogs: Golden Retriever, Pitbull, Labrador, Border Collie, Dachshund, German Shepherd and various mixes. Various cats and ducks. Home Upkeep: As mentioned I am a home owner and I also own several vacation properties, I am reliable and responsible. Though I am not super handy, I do notice what needs to be dealt with immediately and can ensure that things do not become a big problem. Communications: I am an excellent communicator and will match your style. If you like lots of photos and updates, I will send them (this tends to be my default as there are just so many adorable photo opps and fun times to share) however, I know that some home and pet owners do not want that style of communication and that is fine with me. Whatever is your preference. My goal is for you to go away and not worry about what is happening at home and to feel confident that your pet is getting the love and attention that is needed and that your home will be in great shape when you get back.
